In the House, these individuals serve as table officers with the Clerk and Clerk Assistant, advising the Speaker on points of order, questions of privilege, procedural matters and legal issues in general. Parliamentary Counsel advises Members and their staff with regard to parliamentary procedure and assists in the drafting of motions and amendments to Bills and motions. They also advise and assist in drafting private members' bills and Private bills. Parliamentary Counsel maintain offices within the Legislature when the house is sitting and in the Legislature Annex during the remainder of the year. Comments
