Albertans encouraged to learn more about their $16.3 billion Heritage Fund
Red Deer —“The Alberta Heritage Savings Trust Fund is currently worth $16.3 billion,” said Art Johnston, Chair of the Standing Committee on the Alberta Heritage Savings Trust Fund. “Albertans are encouraged to attend our annual public meeting and find out more about their fund and how it benefits Albertans now and in the future.”
The meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 10, 2007, in the Heartland Room, Heritage Centre at Westerner Park, Red Deer, Alberta from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Those unable to attend the meeting but who have access to the Internet are invited to visit the Heritage Fund website at www.albertaheritagefund.com to receive up-to-date information on the fund.
The Alberta Heritage Savings Trust Fund was created in 1976 and continues to be both a valuable asset and a unique Alberta legacy. Since its inception the fund has contributed approximately $30 billion towards priorities like health care, education and infrastructure.
