Elected to his first term as MLA in March 2008, Manmeet Bhullar is the youngest member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, he is also the youngest person to be appointed as a Parliamentary Assistant in Canada. Mr. Bhullar has served as Parliamentary Assistant for Advanced Education and Technology, and was reappointed to Parliamentary Assistant for Municipal Affairs in January 2010.
Mr. Bhullar serves as representative for Calgary-Montrose, but this dedication to his community began long before he was elected to office. Mr. Bhullar created a youth development organization with the hope to empower young people and encourage participation in positive acts of community service rather than turning to harmful activities. His community service and leadership has earned him many awards including the Alberta Centennial Medal, the Centennial Medallion, and the Athabasca University Leadership Award.
As an MLA, no day is typical. On top of his constituency duties and his role as Parliamentary Assistant, Mr. Bhullar is a member of the following committees of the Legislative Assembly

- Standing Committee on Community Services
Mr. Bhullar has also served as a member of the Select Special Chief Electoral Officer Search Committee. He was the representative for the Alberta government on the board for WorldSkills 2009.
