Jackie Armstrong-Homeniuk was elected as the Member of the Legislative Assembly for Fort Saskatchewan-Vegreville on April 16, 2019.
She is currently a member of the Standing Committee on Privileges and Elections, Standing Orders and Printing and the Standing Committee on Alberta’s Economic Future.
She previously served as a member of the Special Standing Committee on Members’ Services and the Standing Committee on Resource Stewardship.
Prior to serving with the Legislative Assembly, she owned and operated a small business in Vegreville for close to 35 years. From 1981 to 1984 she worked with a private insurance adjustment firm.
She has been an avid volunteer and active member of the Vegreville business community. Between 2017 and 2019 she served as secretary of the Vegreville Rotary Club. During the same time period she served as the liaison to the economic development director with the Vegreville & District Chamber of Commerce. From 2016 to 2019 she was also a member of the Vegreville Economic Development Board.
In addition, she volunteered with the Vegreville Football Association from 2012 to 2017.
She served as secretary of an electoral district association from January 2016 to February 2019, when she was voted president.
She has completed postsecondary studies at the University of Calgary and also at MacEwan University in Edmonton. She holds a journeyman certificate for beautician/hairstylist and a diploma in insurance adjustment. She has also taken several economic development courses.
She and her husband have two children.
She is the 914th Member to be sworn in to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta.
