This specially designed tour for English Language Learners, supplemented by a printed field trip guide, is intended to help newcomers learn basic information about Alberta's Legislative Assembly and the Legislature Building.
The field trip guide includes word builders and other activities to help students review what they have seen and experienced.
ELL teachers are also invited to book the mock legislature classroom, where they can participate in a debate simulation in a specially designed replica chamber. With the help of experienced tour guides, students can enact the basics of a parliamentary debate while practicing their language skills.
Teachers receive program information when they book and can download an online field trip guide. Students receive their field trip guide booklets upon arrival.
