MLA Biography

Jeremy Nixon was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, representing the constituency of Calgary-Klein on April 16, 2019.

Mr. Nixon currently serves as a member of the following Legislative Assembly committees:

  • Select Special Democratic Accountability Committee
  • Standing Committee on Families and Communities
  • Standing Committee on Legislative Offices
  • Standing Committee on Private Bills and Private Members’ Public Bills

He previously served as a member of the Standing Committee on Public Accounts.

Prior to serving with the Legislative Assembly, Mr. Nixon worked in the non-profit sector for over 15 years. He held leadership roles with organizations including the Mustard Seed, Canadian Mental Health Association and Boys & Girls Clubs of Calgary.

Mr. Nixon holds a degree in communications and culture from the University of Calgary.

He is married to Anita and they have four children.

He was the 932nd Member to be sworn in to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta.
