CANADA DAY AT THE ALBERTA LEGISLATURE

EDMONTON – The Legislative Assembly of Alberta invites visitors to celebrate Canada Day at Alberta’s centre of democracy. Enjoy free entertainment and activities for all ages on Tuesday, July 1, from noon to 5 p.m. at one of the most picturesque places in the province.
The welcome ceremony kicks off the event at noon with the singing of O Canada by Rob Clark, the Edmonton Oilers official anthem singer, followed by a land acknowledgement from Elder Leonard Saddleback and official remarks from provincial leaders and Her Honour, the Honourable Salma Lakhani, AOE, BSc, LLD (Hon), Lieutenant Governor of Alberta.
EVENT HIGHLIGHTS:
Legislature Directed Open House
12:30 to 4:30 p.m.
Legislative Assembly Visitor Centre
11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Borealis Gallery, featuring the brand new Your Alberta Legislature: The Story of a Place exhibit
- Pehonan Theatre, featuring the 11-minute film Our People Our Province
- The Democracy Discovery Centre with interactive new activities
- Capital Gifts, offering 20 per cent off merchandise in-store and online for July 1 only
