The Alberta Legislature is nestled in the heart of downtown Edmonton

The spacious campus, which includes the Alberta Legislature Building to the south (west of 107 Street and north of Fortway Drive) and the Queen Elizabeth II Building to the north (south of 99 Avenue and west of 107 Street), spans more than four city blocks from 99 Avenue to Fortway Drive and 109 Street to 106 Street. The site is central and accessible by various modes of transportation.

By Public Transit

The best way to access the Alberta Legislature campus is by public transportation. The Government Centre transit stop is on the east side of the Queen Elizabeth II Building, on 107 Street. The Metro and Capital LRT lines disembark at Government Centre station, which is connected underground to the Legislature pedway. Above ground, the Corona Station is nearby on 107 Street and Jasper Avenue.

By Vehicle

The Alberta Legislature does not have a public parking lot. Visitor parking is limited to the roadside. Limited paid parking is available along 99th Avenue in front of Violet King Henry Plaza. Free two-hour parking is available along 107th Street between 98th and 99th avenues, east of the Government Centre Transit Centre.

By Bicycle

Bicycle routes are posted around the grounds and marked on the grounds map. Bike racks are available around the Queen Elizabeth II Building and on the east side of the Alberta Legislature Building. 

Note Bicycles, skateboards, e-scooters and similar modes of transportation may not be ridden across Violet King Henry Plaza between 99th Avenue and the Legislature Building.

  • Saturday - 11 a.m., 12 p.m., 1 p.m., and 2 p.m.

Visitor Centre:

  • Wednesday to Saturday - 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Capital Gifts:

  • Monday to Friday - 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Saturday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Times may vary during holidays, special events and facility maintenance.
