MLA Biography

Minister of Children’s Services

Rebecca Schulz was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, representing the constituency of Calgary-Shaw, on April 16, 2019. She was sworn in as Minister of Children’s Services on April 30, 2019.

Prior to serving with the Legislative Assembly, Ms. Schulz was a communications professional, working most recently as director of alumni marketing and communications with the University of Calgary. She also has experience working as a director of communications for the Ministry of Education with the government of Saskatchewan.

Ms. Schulz holds a master’s degree from Johns Hopkins University and a bachelor of arts from the University of Saskatchewan. Her community involvement includes roles as a director with boards for the Regina Symphony Orchestra and Dress for Success Regina as well as coaching with Girls in the Game.

Ms. Schulz and her husband, Cole, have two children.

She was the 942nd Member to be sworn in to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta.
