Enjoy the film Our People Our Province in the Pehonan Theatre, learn all about active citizenship and the democratic process in the Agora Interpretive Centre and visit Borealis Gallery to see Where are the Children? Healing the Legacy of the Residential Schools, a powerful travelling exhibition by the Legacy of Hope Foundation that explores the history and consequences of the Residential School System in Canada with the goal of contributing to the healing and understanding required for reconciliation.
Canada Day at the Legislature will kick off at noon on the front steps of the Alberta Legislature when the Honourable Nathan Cooper, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, welcomes visitors to the grounds. The ceremony will include the singing of O Canada by Cara Lianne McLeod and remarks by our provincial leaders. It will close with a performance by celebrated three-time world champion hoop dancer and electronic dance music producer Dallas Arcand (DJ KZK).
Legislature Building Open House
Explore the Alberta Legislature! Marvel at the building’s iconic architecture, and walk the Chamber floor, an honour reserved for visitors only on July 1.

Alberta Discovered Stage
Some of the best singer-songwriter artists and bands in the country hail from Alberta, and on Canada Day you’ll find them at the Alberta Discovered stage on Capital Plaza! Bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy performances well into the evening.
