Associate Minister of Red Tape Reduction
Tanya Fir was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, representing the constituency of Calgary-Peigan, on April 16, 2019.
Ms. Fir was appointed Associate Minister of Red Tape Reduction on July 8, 2021. She previously served as Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Tourism from April 30, 2019, to August 24, 2020.
She previously served as a member of the Select Special Democratic Accountability Committee and the Standing Committee on Resource Stewardship.
Prior to serving with the Legislative Assembly, Ms. Fir was employed with Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNRL) for 16 years as a Human Resources Advisor.
Ms. Fir holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Calgary, with a concentration in Management of Organizations and Human Resources.
Ms. Fir was the 916th Member to be sworn in to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta.
