Whitney Issik was elected as the Member of the Legislative Assembly for Calgary-Glenmore on April 16, 2019.
She is current serving as a member of the Standing Committees on the Alberta Heritage Savings Trust Fund and Resource Stewardship.
She previously served as Minister of Environment and Parks and Associate Minister of Status of Women. She also served as Government Whip.
She previously served on the Standing Committees for Alberta’s Economic Future and Privileges and Elections, Standing Orders and Printing.
Before serving with the Legislative Assembly, she owned and operated a small business in Calgary for almost 30 years. She has also worked in the telecommunications and energy industries.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Calgary, where she served as vice-president of finance for the students’ union.
Throughout the past 30 years, she has volunteered for various community and sports organizations, and has been active in politics since 1983.
She and her husband have two children.
She was the 922nd Member sworn in to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta.
