Parliamentary Secretary for EMS Reform
R.J. Sigurdson was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, representing the constituency of Highwood, on April 16, 2019.
On October 24, 2022, Mr. Sigurdson was sworn in as Parliament Secretary for EMS Reform and serves as member of the Standing Committee on Resource Stewardship.
He previously served as the Chair of the Select Special Committee on Real Property Rights and Deputy Chair for the Standing Committee on Legislative Offices, and as a member of the following:
- Select Special Democratic Accountability Committee
- Special Standing Committee on Members’ Services
- Standing Committee on Resource Stewardship
- Standing Committee on Private Bills and Private Members’ Public Bills
Before serving as a Member, Mr. Sigurdson worked with Avalanche Air Systems as a senior project/general manager and shareholder. He also has extensive experience as a red seal sheet metal worker.
Mr. Sigurdson has been an active volunteer with organizations such as Shriners International.
He enjoys spending time with his wife and children, camping, fishing and hunting.
Mr. Sigurdson was the 945th Member sworn in to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta.
