Thomas Dang was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, representing the constituency of Edmonton-South West, on May 5, 2015. He was elected to represent the constituency of Edmonton-South on April 16, 2019.
He currently serves as a member of the Standing Committee on Families and Communities.
He previously served on the following committees:
- Select Special Information and Privacy Commissioner Search Committee
- Special Standing Committee on Members’ Services
- Standing Committee on Private Bills and Private Members’ Public Bills
- Select Special Democratic Accountability Committee
- Standing Committee on Alberta’s Economic Future
- Standing Committee on the Alberta Heritage Savings Trust Fund
- Standing Committee on Resource Stewardship
Prior to serving with the Legislative Assembly, Mr. Dang worked in software development while pursuing a degree in computing science at the University of Alberta.
Mr. Dang is passionate about information security holding an Offensive Security Certified Professional certification.
Born and raised in Edmonton, he was an activist and advocate for social policy and student issues throughout his youth.
Mr. Dang was the 843rd Member to be sworn in to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta.
