Parliamentary Secretary for the Francophonie
Laila Goodridge is the MLA for Fort McMurray-Lac La Biche – a community she’s called home for her entire life.
Laila Goodridge was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta in the Fort McMurray-Conklin by-election, which was held July 12, 2018. She was re-elected to represent the constituency of Fort McMurray-Lac La Biche on April 16, 2019. She was appointed Parliamentary Secretary for the Francophonie on June 23, 2019. Goodridge is fluent in French and holds a bachelor of arts degree from University of Alberta’s Campus Saint-Jean.
In addition to serving as an MLA, Goodridge is the Chair of the Standing Committee on Families and Communities. She is a member of the Special Standing Committee on Members’ Services as well as the Select Special Committee on Real Property Rights.
She previously served as a member of the Select Special Democratic Accountability Committee.
Serving the people of northern Alberta, Goodridge believes in defending and diversifying Alberta’s energy sector and the jobs it provides.
Goodridge believes strongly in servant leadership. When she is not in the Legislature, she can be found, with her husband Niall, exploring all Fort McMurray-Lac La Biche has to offer.
She was the 907th Member to be sworn in to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta.
