Submissions must be original and created entirely by the entrant.
Submissions are accepted in English only.
By entering the Contest, entrants grant to the LAO the authorization and licence to reproduce, broadcast, publish, distribute, represent in public, edit and modify their submission, without further compensation beyond the participation in the Contest,
including use on the Legislative Assembly of Alberta website, social media websites (e.g. Facebook, Instagram and Twitter), photo- and video-sharing websites (e.g. YouTube) and in printed materials.
Submissions to the Contest will be reviewed by a panel that will include the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly and nine (9) other individuals selected from a variety of backgrounds from different areas within the LAO. The panel will review the submissions
received, which will be judged on originality, creativity and a demonstrated understanding of what a Parliament/Legislature is and why it is important.
Up to four (4) submissions may be selected by the panel from each of the following entrant categories to be forwarded to the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association Headquarters Secretariat in London, United Kingdom, to compete in the international Youth Creativity Competition 2021:
- Infant Group (0 to 11 years)
- Junior Group (12 to 14 years)
- Senior Group (15 to 18 years)
Submissions selected to compete in the international competition are subject to the CPA’s submission guidelines, which may be reviewed on the CPA international Youth Creativity Competition 2021 website.
