Explore the Legislature grounds this winter!

Category: Notices

The Alberta Legislature grounds feature stunning lights, festive music and skating this holiday season. Come enjoy in person or watch Alberta Assembly TV or the Legislative Assembly YouTube channel  for the next best thing!

A tradition since 1985, more than 140,000 multi-coloured LED lights on approximately 120 trees illuminate the grounds with a beautiful 56-foot white spruce tree from the Edson area that is centrally located on the north grounds.

Enjoy the sounds of the holiday season with free outdoor performances by the Brasstactics at the North Amphitheater during December. Please visit Celebrate the Season for more information.

Weather permitting, the ice rink on the south grounds will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day for visitors to enjoy. Please note that the shack and washroom facilities will remain closed.

Visitors are also invited to take part in free livestream tours of the Legislature Building every Friday at 12:15 p.m. Please note there will be no livestream tours on December 24 and 31, 2021 and will resume on Friday, January 7, 2022.

And last, but not least, shop for holiday products at throughout the holiday season.
