Mandate
The Standing Committee on Alberta’s Economic Future is a legislative policy committee with a
mandate that relates to the areas of Advanced Education; Agriculture and Irrigation;
Arts, Culture and Status of Women; Infrastructure; Jobs, Economy, Trade and Immigration;
Service Alberta and Red Tape Reduction; Technology and Innovation; Tourism and Sport.
Pursuant to Standing Order 74.1(1) Bill 208: Tobacco, Smoking and Vaping Reduction Amendment Act, 2026
, was referred to the Standing Committee on Alberta’s Economic Future
on April 20, 2026.
In accordance with Government Motion 38, passed by the Assembly on April 23, 2026, the Lobbyists Act has been referred to the Standing Committee on Alberta’s Economic Future for the purpose of conducing a comprehensive review pursuant to section 21 of the Act. The Committee must report to the Assembly within one year after beginning its review.
