Mandate
The Standing Committee on Resource Stewardship is a Legislative Policy Committee with a mandate related to the areas of Affordability and Utilities; Agriculture and Irrigation; Energy; Environment and Protected Areas; Indigenous Relations; Municipal Affairs; Transportation and Economic Corridors; and Treasury Board and Finance.
With the passage of Government Motion 7 on November 30, 2022, the Legislative Assembly referred the Conflicts of Interest Act to the Standing Committee on Resource Stewardship, and deemed the Committee the special committee of the Assembly for the purpose of conducting a comprehensive review, pursuant to section 48 of that Act. In accordance with section 48 of the Act, the Committee must report to the Assembly within 12 months after beginning its review, including any amendments to the Act the Committee may recommend.
