Questions that require lengthy or complex answers fall under written questions.
Members, usually from opposition caucuses, pose written questions to Cabinet Ministers. They differ from oral questions in that they seek more detailed information.
The Government must provide notification to the Assembly of whether it will respond to a written question within 15 sitting days of the written question appearing on the Order Paper. If the Government indicates that it will respond, in whole or in part, to the question, the response must be tabled in the Assembly within 30 sitting days.
The disposition of all Written Questions is recorded in the Votes and Proceedings.
